Not only the Market Grounds company commits itself socially, but also its individual brands. This particularly applies to John & John - the handmade, extra crunchy crisps with the finest spices. These crisps were created in Southern England from the passion of friends, potato farmer, John Farmer and adventurer, John Sailor.

In view of this maritime background of the brand, it was obvious for John & John not to commit itself “somehow”, but in a very targeted manner. This resulted in a fruitful cooperation with the Deutschen Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger [German Maritime Search and Rescue Service] (DGzRS), in short “Die Seenotretter” [The Sea Rescuers].

The Sea Rescuers is one of the most state-of-the-art maritime rescue services in the world. Its declared aim is to rescue shipwrecked persons from distress at sea, release people from danger and care for injured and sick persons. On call around the clock and in all kinds of weather.

With such an ambitious mission, it is essential to be able to help quickly and reliably in an emergency. For this, the Sea Rescuers need the safest technology and a modern fleet, which withstand wind and weather, no matter how high the waves are and always with the aim of bringing rescued shipwrecked persons home safely. In order to make its contribution to this, John & John gave the Sea Rescuers a donation for the procurement of heavy-weather clothing. This way, all shipwrecked persons will hopefully return safely to their home ports.
