The TEAHOUSE EXCLUSIVE tea lines are the winners of this year’s iF Packaging Design Awards, 2015.


Market Grounds was founded on 10 July 1998 by Kai Ellerbrock and Amir Tassoudji – who are both still active and the company’s Managing Directors today.

A great deal has happened since then. While at the beginning, the product range was only comprised of a very manageable number of brands, which primarily came from the beverages sector, e.g. DaVinci, the product range was increasingly expanded. On the one hand, additional third-party brands, which were distributed - mainly exclusively - in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; on the other hand, brands from own development and/or production, which can be found in virtually all parts of the world in the meantime.

The TEAHOUSE EXCLUSIVES tea brand, which stood for passion, as well as tradition, which was also produced under our own auspices, was christened; with One&Only, a brand supplemented the portfolio, which covers the majority of the catering requirements and with John & John, a brand was added that is unequalled in the area of hand-cooked crisps.

This rapid development also took account of the infrastructure of Market Grounds. For this first years, it moved into “Pacific House”, situated not far from the Atlantic Hotel, before the relocation took place to modern premises in Ericus-Contor in February 2014, with better transport links.

The constant modernisation process is also reflected in the logo, which has gone through various development stages since its birth. It has enjoyed its present appearance since March 2013.
